Jennifer K. Lodge, PhD, associate dean for research and professor of molecular microbiology at the School of Medicine, has been appointed vice chancellor for research. Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton, Larry J. Shapiro, MD, dean of the School of Medicine, and Provost H. Holden Thorp, PhD, made the announcement.

Fair Saint Louis will be held July 3-5 in Forest Park. WUSTL will sponsor the event by providing access to several campus parking areas beginning at 4 p.m. Thursday, July 3. Large crowds are expected, and anyone who does not need to drive to campus during the fair is advised not to.

The Whitney R. Harris World Law Institute led a meeting in Switzerland in May to discuss drafting a new global convention on crimes against humanity. The meeting brought together members of the United Nations International Law Commission and legal experts from around the world. The meeting addressed the substance and the politics of a new treaty.
